Family Offices (FOs) have grown exponentially over the last decades and today represent an important priority for many business families.

London Business School (LBS) has leveraged its London location, thought leadership, world-class faculty, and extensive network to organise a unique, non-commercial event exclusively for family members, principals of single-family offices, and senior leaders within family offices.

The Family Office Conference at LBS brings together principals and senior executives in a confidential setting, without interference from service providers or entities with commercial interests. Over two days, participants will engage in research-backed insights, peer learning, and discussions with like-minded individuals.

This exclusive conference promises actionable strategies for your family office through interactive sessions led by world-renowned LBS faculty, influential business leaders, and distinguished family office leaders.

The conference sells out every year, so an early expression of interest is recommended.

To maintain the quality of discussion and networking, attendance is by application or invitation only. The Family Office Conference maintains strict qualification criteria to ensure a protected environment for peer learning and open dialogue. The conference is only open to:

Single-Family Office Principals
Senior Single Family Office Leadership (CEO, CFO, COO)

Our team reviews all expressions of interest to ensure participants meet our qualification criteria. Commercial service providers or advisors are not eligible to attend.

After confirming eligibility, individuals who qualify will receive their exclusive personal invitation to purchase a ticket for £975. A ten percent discount is offered to LBS students and alumni.

The family office sector has $10 trillion in assets under management, but is “one area where we really have no clue what is happening,” according to Professor Florin Vasvari.

From comparative obscurity, ‘family offices’, structures that protect and nurture the assets of successful families, have become a major sector in their own right. For the sector, big questions include how investment behaviour should reflect the values of the next generation, how the original entrepreneurial spirit can be maintained and the role of philanthropy. These and many other issues were addressed at our inaugural conference

The conference highlighted the need for long-term thinking, purposeful stewardship, the need to distinguish between areas where specialist knowledge would be an advantage, and areas where they should be content to take a general approach and move along with the market.

The IEPC supports the development of entrepreneurs and the entrepreneurial ideas that drive impact, create wealth and advance well-being. The IEPC also conducts research underpinning today’s private capital markets including venture capital, private equity, growth, buyouts, and the broader private capital ecosystem.

A central ambition of the IEPC is to grow our family enterprise linked research, teaching, and events programmes. For us family enterprise covers the full family ownership spectrum, bringing together business owning families with those managing their own single-family offices. We believe the IEPC’s twin strengths of business entrepreneurship and private capital management are central to understanding family enterprise now and into the future.
