Challenges and Competitions

Led by students, supported by the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Private Capital

Our wide range of business creation activities allow students to put theory from the classroom in to practice in ‘real-life’ pitching, testing and idea-development scenarios. Students must work effectively as part of a team to impress a panel of expert judges. Such activities help students to intuitively grasp theory and transform it into practice that stands out and inspires others.

Entrepreneurship World Cup Competition

In December 2023 the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Private Capital was announced as the official exclusive Knowledge Partner for Entrepreneurship World Cup UAE edition 2024 providing its start-ups with the opportunity to compete for a share of $1 million in prize money.

LBS Launchpad is a startup pre-accelerator programme which brings together the brightest minds to transform ideas into viable business models.

Teams identify a promising social enterprise on the verge of raising seed funding and carry out an impact investment fund’s detailed due diligence.

Organised by the LBS PE/VC Club, the conference provides a prestigious platform for rich debate, knowledge sharing and networking among prominent investment professionals and a selection of the brightest students from around the world.

Awards

Accomplished Entrepreneur Awards

Open to School alumni who have launched businesses. There are two categories: one for early-stage ventures and one for later-stage ventures.

Real Innovation Awards

Designed to showcase the authentic, haphazard and exciting business of real innovation and to celebrate the people who embody the process.

Tech Disrupt Transform Founder Award

First and second-year MBA students can apply for the new Tech Disrupt Transform Founder Award by submitting an innovative, tech-driven business proposal. Applicants should demonstrate post-MBA implementation potential and strong academic and professional backgrounds. Preference will be given to proposals that disrupt and transform established business models or industries. The application process and further information will be made available in early 2025.
