Getting a scholarship

Scholarships can turn the dream of business school into a reality. We’re proud to recognise outstanding talent and provide the critical financial support those students need.

Scholarships are funded by LBS directly, and by our friends, alumni and supporters
We consider all admitted students automatically for the vast majority of scholarships - most don’t require a separate application
Some awards have qualifying criteria but most are open to all
Some scholarships are awarded early in the admissions process - make sure you apply for your programme as early as possible.

Using a loan to finance your studies

We work with a number of specialist student loan providers who offer a wide range of loans to suit your circumstances.

Loans are available for both tuition fees and your living costs. The lending criteria for each loan provider can vary, and you should consider your options carefully before taking out a loan. This includes private loans and any central/regional government loans which may be available in your country of residence.

All loans available to our students are issued by 3^rd party providers. We do not recommend any particular loan provider, as your best option will be determined by your own individual circumstances. Our most common loan providers are listed here and you can find a full list of the loan providers we work with on our funding tool. You should also check if there are any local providers in your region, as these may not be listed on our website.

When taking out a loan, you must ensure you fully understand the terms of the loan agreement, including the repayment requirements. Loans are a significant financial commitment, and you should undertake your own due diligence before entering an agreement.

Private Providers: We work with a number of private loan providers who offer loans to eligible US residents. This includes:

US Federal Aid: London Business School participates in the US Federal Student Aid Title IV loan scheme, as a recognised foreign school. The scheme is administered by the US Department of Education and provides student loans to eligible US citizens, nationals or permanent residents (subject to conditions and evidence of eligibility). Students can borrow up to $20,500 per academic year of their programme.

Eligible programmes include:

Masters in Business Administration (MBA)

Masters in Finance (MiF) [full-time only]

Masters in Management (MiM)

Masters in Financial Analysis (MFA)

Masters in Analytics and Management (MAM)

Sloan Masters in Leadership and Strategy (SLN)

You can apply for a Title IV loan once you have accepted a place on your programme. The federal School Code for London Business School is G20955

Entrance Counselling

It is a US legal requirement for all students who take out Title IV loans to undergo entrance counselling. This is to ensure that you understand the responsibilities and the terms and conditions of your loan.

Please complete entrance counselling on the StudentLoans.gov website. You will need your FSA ID. You will need to take a screenshot of the counselling confirmation and send it in with your application as we require proof that the counselling session(s) have been completed. We cannot certify your loan until we have a copy of the counselling confirmation.

Exit Counselling

You must also complete exit counselling by the time you finish or withdraw from your studies. This must be completed before you graduate, drop below half-time attendance, or withdraw, regardless of whether you plan to transfer to another University or re-enrol at London Business School. The counselling session will help you understand your rights and responsibilities as a student loan borrower and provides useful tips and information to help you manage your loans.

Please complete exit counselling on the StudentLoans.gov website. You will need your FSA ID. Please email the 'Completed Exit Counselling' confirmation page to the Visas and Financial Aid Team once completed.

NSLDS Enrolment

Title IV loan information will be submitted to the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS), and will be accessible by guaranty agencies, lenders, and schools determined to be authorized users of the data system. Any changes to your enrolment status will be reported via NSLDS within the required timeframes.

Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)

London Business School has an institution-wide SAP Policy, which can be downloaded here.

Return of Title IV funding

If you withdraw from London Business School, this can affect our eligibility for Title IV funding. Please see our R2T4 policy here.

Consumer Information

The US Department of Education requires all institutions participating in the US Federal Aid programme to disclose important information to our students and prospective students. This can be downloaded here.

Cost of Attendance

The amount you can borrow is determined by the Cost of Attendance. Please see here for our 2025/26 Cost of Attendance Calculations.

London Business School offers a growing portfolio of scholarships. Awarding criteria vary depending on the scholarship. Most scholarships are awarded based on merit demonstrated in the application process, to support the diversity of our student cohorts and financial need. Please see the LBS funding tool for further scholarship details.

Bursaries supporting financial needs are available on some programmes. Ask your admissions manager for further information.

In addition to our own scholarship portfolio, there are also external loan options that admitted students can apply to, including Prodigy and Future Finance. Our financial aid team can support you applying for external loans.
